With petrol, diesel, and CNG prices witnessing fresh increases amid global energy market uncertainty, attention is now turning to aviation turbine fuel (ATF), commonly known as jet fuel, as industry experts assess the possibility of further price revisions.

Jet fuel prices are closely linked to international crude oil markets, which continue to remain volatile due to geopolitical tensions, supply disruptions, and production-related uncertainties in major oil-producing regions. Any sustained rise in crude prices could directly impact airline operating costs.

Aviation fuel already accounts for a significant portion of an airline’s total expenses. If ATF prices rise further, airlines may be forced to adjust ticket prices, reduce operational margins, or review route strategies to manage increasing costs.

Industry analysts say that while airlines may initially absorb part of the burden, prolonged fuel inflation could eventually lead to higher airfares, particularly on domestic routes where competition remains intense.

The situation is being closely monitored by both airlines and policymakers, especially as rising transportation and logistics costs continue to influence broader inflation concerns across sectors.
