New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has extended his support to a protest organized by the Campaign for Judicial Accountability and Reforms (CJP), alleging that repeated examination paper leaks have severely undermined the credibility of India’s education system.
Addressing the gathering, Rahul Gandhi claimed that 152 examination paper leaks have occurred over the years, affecting nearly 7.5 crore students, while alleging that no convictions have followed in connection with these incidents. He argued that repeated irregularities have shattered the confidence of students and their families and called for comprehensive reforms to ensure transparency and accountability in competitive examinations.
“152 paper leaks, zero convictions, and 7.5 crore students affected. This is unacceptable. Students deserve a fair and transparent examination system,” Rahul Gandhi said while expressing solidarity with the protesters.
The Congress leader also criticized the government’s handling of examination-related controversies, including concerns surrounding NEET and other competitive exams, alleging that stronger safeguards are needed to prevent malpractice and protect the future of millions of aspirants.
The Campaign for Judicial Accountability and Reforms (CJP) has been demanding greater accountability, stricter action against those involved in examination fraud, and systemic reforms to restore public confidence in the recruitment and admission process.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rejected the allegations, stating that the government has strengthened anti-cheating laws and that investigating agencies are taking action against individuals involved in examination malpractices. Officials have reiterated that measures are being implemented to improve examination security and maintain the integrity of the country’s competitive exams.
The ongoing debate has intensified calls for stronger legal enforcement, faster investigations, and comprehensive reforms aimed at ensuring that students are evaluated through a fair, transparent, and credible examination process.
