Dubai/Chandigarh: Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Aman Arora has stepped up the state’s global investment outreach by inviting UAE-based investors to explore business opportunities across Punjab, highlighting the state’s infrastructure, skilled workforce and investor-friendly policies.
Arora made the pitch during the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress in Dubai, where he met UAE International Investment Council (UAEIIC) Secretary General Abdulla Ahmed Al Suwaidi and discussed opportunities to mobilise investments into Punjab.
Punjab Pitches Itself As An Investment Hub
During the meeting, Arora highlighted Punjab’s economic potential and invited UAE investors to participate in projects through government, semi-government and private-sector partnerships.
The minister said Punjab offers opportunities across several high-growth sectors, with the state seeking to attract global capital and strengthen its industrial base.
At the AIM Congress, Punjab showcased potential in sectors including technology, manufacturing, agriculture, aerospace and defence, and tourism.
Assurance Of Seamless Clearances
A key part of Punjab’s pitch was its effort to simplify the process of setting up and expanding businesses.
Arora highlighted Invest Punjab, the state’s unified single-window platform, which is designed to provide statutory approvals and clearances through a streamlined process.
The minister assured potential investors of complete administrative support, handholding and logistical facilitation from the Punjab government throughout their investment journey.
Focus On Infrastructure And Skilled Workforce
Arora also highlighted Punjab’s multimodal connectivity, industrial infrastructure and skilled technical manpower as advantages for businesses looking to establish operations in the state.
The state government is positioning Punjab as a gateway for companies seeking access to India’s northern markets while also offering an established agricultural and industrial ecosystem.
Gulf News reported that Punjab’s delegation at the AIM Congress emphasised industrial infrastructure, investor incentives, skilled talent and fast-track approvals as key elements of its investment proposition.
Strengthening Punjab-UAE Economic Ties
The meeting with UAEIIC was aimed not only at attracting individual investments but also at establishing stronger institutional links between Punjab and UAE-based investors.
The UAE International Investment Council brings together UAE public and private entities involved in outward foreign investment. Discussions therefore focused on creating opportunities for direct capital inflows, partnerships and joint ventures between UAE investors and businesses in Punjab.
Arora said stronger engagement with UAE investors could help create long-term and mutually beneficial economic partnerships.
‘Punjab Means Business’ Message
The Punjab government’s investment campaign is being positioned around a simple message: the state is ready to work with international investors.
Invest Punjab said on social media that its delegation at AIM Congress 2026 was engaging with UAE investors, business groups and international institutions while highlighting opportunities created by Punjab’s industrial and agricultural base, skilled workforce and Punjab Industrial and Business Development Policy 2026.
The outreach comes as Indian states increasingly compete to attract international capital by offering faster approvals, better infrastructure and investor support.
Aiming For Long-Term Investment Pipeline
Arora expressed confidence that the Dubai engagement would help build stronger business relationships and create a pipeline of potential investments in Punjab.
For the state government, the objective extends beyond securing individual projects. Establishing direct institutional relationships with UAE investors could open the door to larger investments and joint ventures across multiple sectors.
The Dubai outreach is therefore being viewed as part of Punjab’s broader strategy to strengthen its international economic footprint and position itself as an attractive destination for global businesses.
As discussions with UAE investors continue, Punjab will be looking to convert the interest generated at the AIM Congress into concrete investment proposals, partnerships and projects in the state.
