Yash’s much-awaited action gangster drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has witnessed a mixed theatrical run. The film opened strongly on the back of Yash’s massive fan following and high pre-release expectations, but collections have slowed considerably after the opening week.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The film was released across multiple languages and hit cinemas on August 26, 2026.
Toxic Box Office Collection So Far
According to the latest available trade figures, Toxic has collected approximately ₹293.5 crore worldwide in its first 13 days, with the India net collection continuing to grow at a slower pace in its second week. Sacnilk’s latest tracking lists the film at ₹293.5 crore across 13 days.
Earlier, at the end of its first week, the movie had collected around ₹229.95 crore net in India, while its India gross stood at approximately ₹272.80 crore. Its worldwide gross at that point was reported at around ₹313.55 crore, including overseas earnings.
Toxic Day-Wise Box Office Collection
| Day | India Net Collection |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | ₹50.31 crore |
| Opening Weekend | ₹116.48 crore |
| First Week | ₹130.09 crore |
| Day 7 | ₹8.20 crore |
| Day 12 | ₹2.35 crore |
| Day 13 | Part of ₹293.5 crore worldwide total |
The opening day remains the biggest contributor to the film’s theatrical run. Bollywood Hungama lists Toxic‘s Day 1 India collection at ₹50.31 crore, with an opening weekend of ₹116.48 crore.
Strong Opening, But Sharp Drop After First Week
Toxic benefited enormously from Yash’s popularity following the success of the KGF franchise. The film generated considerable anticipation before release and opened to impressive numbers.
However, the film struggled to maintain the same momentum during the following days. Reports tracking its second-week performance indicate that daily collections dropped into the lower single digits.
The film’s Day 8 performance, for example, was reported at around ₹5.10 crore in India, taking its domestic net total to approximately ₹234.70 crore at that stage.
Worldwide Box Office Performance
Despite the slowdown in India, Toxic has benefited from its international release. By the end of its first week, the film had crossed the ₹315 crore worldwide mark according to trade reports.
The overseas market has therefore played an important role in keeping the film’s global gross above the ₹300 crore milestone.
Is Toxic a Hit or Flop?
The final verdict will depend on the film’s eventual lifetime theatrical collection, distributor recoveries and its overall revenue from satellite, music and digital rights.
However, reports have highlighted the gap between the film’s huge expectations and its theatrical performance. Some reports describe the movie’s box-office run as disappointing, particularly considering its scale and reported production costs.
There has also been considerable attention around the film’s reported OTT valuation following its theatrical performance. Recent reports claim that a digital rights offer has fallen substantially from earlier expectations, although these figures should be treated as reported industry estimates rather than officially confirmed numbers.
What Lies Ahead for Toxic?
The key question now is whether Toxic can maintain enough occupancy in its third week to move significantly beyond the ₹300 crore worldwide range and improve its final theatrical standing.
With competition from newer releases and falling daily collections, the film faces a challenging final phase. Nevertheless, Yash’s strong fan base and the film’s performance in overseas markets could help it add more revenue before its theatrical run concludes.
