Bengaluru: Ride-hailing platform Rapido has received a five-year licence from the Karnataka State Transport Authority (KSTA) to operate cab services across the state. The licence is valid until August 2031 and has been issued under the Karnataka On-Demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules, 2016.
The development gives Rapido a formal regulatory framework for its cab operations in Karnataka and strengthens its position in the state’s competitive app-based mobility market.
Rapido’s Karnataka Cab Licence Valid Till 2031
Rapido’s cab business is operated by Roppen Transportation Services Private Limited. According to the company, the new licence provides greater regulatory continuity for both its drivers, known as “Captains”, and passengers using the platform.
The five-year approval means Rapido can continue offering its cab services in Karnataka under the state’s existing aggregator framework through August 2031.
