Severe weather conditions across Uttar Pradesh have reportedly claimed nearly 100 lives, prompting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to direct ministers and senior officials to visit affected districts and meet the families of victims.
According to reports, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and strong winds caused widespread damage in several parts of the state, affecting homes, crops, electricity supply, and transportation services. Authorities have launched relief and rescue operations in the worst-hit regions while local administrations continue assessing the extent of the damage.
The Chief Minister expressed grief over the loss of lives and instructed officials to ensure immediate financial assistance and medical support for affected families. Ministers have reportedly been assigned responsibility for monitoring relief work in different districts and coordinating with local authorities.
Officials stated that emergency teams, disaster response personnel, and healthcare services have been placed on alert as weather conditions remain unstable in some areas. Farmers in multiple districts have also reported crop losses due to sudden storms and heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has continued issuing weather advisories for several northern regions, warning of possible thunderstorms and rainfall activity over the coming days. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and follow official safety instructions during extreme weather conditions.
