The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the re-examination for NEET UG 2026 will be conducted on June 21 following controversy and allegations surrounding a reported paper leak in the medical entrance examination.

The decision comes after widespread protests and demands from students and parents seeking a fair and transparent evaluation process. Officials said the re-exam will be held for affected candidates under enhanced security arrangements and stricter monitoring mechanisms.

The NTA stated that additional measures are being put in place to maintain the integrity of the examination process, including tighter coordination with authorities and improved surveillance at exam centres.

The NEET UG examination is one of India’s largest entrance tests for undergraduate medical admissions, with lakhs of students appearing every year for seats in medical and dental colleges across the country.
