Consumers across several cities have expressed concern over the latest hike in petrol and diesel prices, saying the increase will place additional pressure on household budgets and everyday expenses.
Many commuters, small business owners, and transport workers said rising fuel prices eventually affect the cost of essential goods, public transport, and daily travel. Several consumers questioned how the common man, or “aam aadmi,” would cope with the growing financial burden amid already rising living costs.
Citizens also pointed out that fuel price hikes have a cascading impact on food prices, delivery charges, and other basic services, making inflation more difficult for middle-class and lower-income families to manage.
The increase in fuel prices comes amid fluctuations in global crude oil markets and geopolitical tensions, which continue to influence energy costs worldwide.
