Hyderabad, August 21, 2026: Hyderabad Police have booked Lingamaneni Sanjush, the son of Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh, after a 26-year-old woman was killed in a road accident involving an Aston Martin in the city’s Madhapur area.
The victim, Bharathi Mukhi, worked as a saleswoman at a store in Inorbit Mall. Police said the accident took place on August 16 when she was crossing the road near the mall. The luxury car allegedly struck her while being driven at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner.
Woman Dies After Being Hit Near Inorbit Mall
According to the police, Bharathi Mukhi and a colleague had gone to the nearby ITC Kohenur area to collect food. While returning to their workplace, Mukhi was crossing the road in front of Inorbit Mall when the Aston Martin allegedly hit her.
She suffered severe head injuries and was bleeding heavily after the collision. She was taken to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills, but doctors declared her dead, police said.
MP’s Son Named as Accused
Police identified Lingamaneni Sanjush as the person allegedly driving the Aston Martin at the time of the crash. His father, Lingamaneni Ramesh, is a Rajya Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh associated with the Jana Sena Party.
The Madhapur police registered a case against Sanjush under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in connection with causing death by negligence. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
Why Was He Not Arrested?
Police officials said Sanjush was served a notice but was not immediately arrested because the offence registered in the case is bailable. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and that the legal process is being followed.
The case has attracted significant public attention because of the involvement of a luxury car and the accused’s connection to a sitting Rajya Sabha MP.
Investigation Continues
Police are expected to rely on witness accounts, the FIR and other evidence to establish the exact sequence of events leading to Bharathi Mukhi’s death.
The case has once again drawn attention to road safety and allegations of rash driving on Hyderabad’s busy roads. Further details may emerge as the police investigation progresses.
