Maxvolt Energy Takes Next Growth Step with Bhoomi Pujan of ₹700-Crore Aligarh Battery Plant

New Delhi, September 23, 2026: Maxvolt Energy Industries Limited has marked a major milestone in its expansion plans with the Bhoomi Pujan of a proposed ₹700-crore advanced battery manufacturing facility in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The project is aimed at expanding the company’s presence across electric mobility, energy storage and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) applications.

Spread across approximately 23,576 square metres, or nearly six acres, the facility is planned to be developed in two phases of 5 GWh each, giving the Aligarh plant a targeted annual manufacturing capacity of 10 GWh. Combined with Maxvolt’s operational facility at Duhai, the company’s planned manufacturing capacity is expected to reach 12.5 GWh annually.

Expanding Into Four-Wheeler EV Batteries

The Aligarh facility is expected to broaden Maxvolt Energy’s product portfolio beyond its existing two- and three-wheeler battery business. The company plans to manufacture battery solutions ranging from 1 kW to 5 MW, catering to electric mobility, energy storage, telecom and power-backup applications.

The plant will also include dedicated OEM production lines, allowing batteries to be developed according to individual customer requirements. Importantly, the project will support Maxvolt’s entry into four-wheeler electric vehicle battery packs.

The planned battery systems will incorporate battery-management capabilities for conventional charging as well as L3 and L5 fast-charging applications, according to the company.

₹700 Crore Investment and Employment Potential

Maxvolt has estimated the project’s investment at approximately ₹700 crore. At full capacity, the company has projected an annual turnover potential of more than ₹6,800 crore.

The facility is also expected to generate significant employment. The company estimates 1,500–2,000 direct jobs and around 7,500–10,000 indirect employment opportunities across manufacturing, engineering, testing, logistics and associated supply-chain activities.

The project is therefore expected to have an impact beyond the factory itself, potentially creating additional demand for component suppliers, logistics providers and technical-service companies in the surrounding industrial ecosystem.

Push for Uttar Pradesh’s EV Manufacturing Ecosystem

The Bhoomi Pujan was attended by Alok Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure & Industrial Development and NRI Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, along with Maxvolt Energy executives and other stakeholders.

Kumar said projects of this scale are part of the state’s effort to develop a battery and EV manufacturing base. The project aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, which seeks to attract investment in electric mobility and related manufacturing.

For Aligarh, the project could also contribute to the development of a broader industrial supply chain around battery manufacturing and electric mobility.

Maxvolt’s Wider Expansion Strategy

The Aligarh investment forms part of Maxvolt Energy’s broader effort to increase manufacturing capacity and diversify into energy-storage and battery-recycling activities. The company already operates a manufacturing facility in Duhai and has been expanding its battery production and technology capabilities.

Its recycling business, ReEarth, is also being developed as part of the company’s strategy to establish a more integrated lithium-battery ecosystem. The company’s FY2025-26 investor presentation describes ongoing work on lithium recycling technologies and collaborations with research institutions.

The company has also said that its battery packs are manufactured and tested in accordance with AIS 156 requirements, while its quality-management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015. Its stated customer network includes more than 950 dealers across 22 states and over 30 OEM partners.

A New Phase for Maxvolt Energy

The Bhoomi Pujan represents the start of development of the Aligarh facility, rather than completion or commissioning of the plant. The planned two-phase rollout will initially establish 5 GWh of capacity before the second phase takes the facility toward its targeted 10 GWh annual capacity.

With a ₹700-crore investment, planned 10 GWh capacity and expansion into four-wheeler EV batteries, the Aligarh project represents a significant new stage in Maxvolt Energy’s manufacturing plans. It also comes as demand for batteries grows across electric vehicles, stationary energy storage, telecom and other applications in India.

The project will now move from the Bhoomi Pujan milestone into the construction and subsequent commissioning phases, with its eventual impact depending on the execution and ramp-up of the planned capacity.
