In a chilling case that has shocked residents of West Bengal’s Siliguri, police have arrested a woman and her alleged lover for allegedly murdering her husband and dumping his beheaded body in a tea garden. Investigators claim the crime was the result of a carefully planned conspiracy driven by an extramarital relationship.

Victim Found in Tea Garden

The victim, identified as Narayan Roy, was reported missing before locals discovered his headless body in a tea garden on the outskirts of Siliguri. Police launched an investigation after recovering the body and began tracing the victim’s last known movements.

During the investigation, officers found evidence suggesting that Roy had been lured to a secluded location, where he was allegedly attacked. According to investigators, his throat was slit before he was beheaded, and the body was later abandoned in the tea garden in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.

Wife and Alleged Lover Under Suspicion

Police suspicion soon fell on the victim’s wife after inconsistencies emerged during questioning. Further investigation reportedly revealed that she was involved in an alleged extramarital relationship with another man.

Authorities allege that the woman and her lover conspired to eliminate Roy so they could continue their relationship without opposition. The two were subsequently taken into custody for questioning.

Planned Murder, Say Police

According to police, the accused allegedly planned the murder in advance. Investigators believe the victim was called to a specific location, where he was overpowered and killed. The body was then transported and dumped in the tea garden, while the severed head was allegedly disposed of separately to delay identification and mislead investigators.

Police said forensic evidence, witness statements, and digital records played a crucial role in reconstructing the sequence of events and linking the accused to the crime.

Investigation Continues

The accused have been arrested, and police are continuing their investigation to determine whether anyone else assisted in the crime. Officers are also working to recover additional evidence, including the weapon allegedly used in the murder and other material connected to the case.

The case has sparked widespread concern in the region due to the brutal nature of the killing. Authorities have assured that the investigation will continue and that a chargesheet will be filed after all evidence is collected.

The accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
