‘I Laughed It Off’: VCK Chief Says DMK, AIADMK Offered CM Post Despite Support For TVK
Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol. Thirumavalavan has claimed that leaders from both the DMK and AIADMK informally hinted at offering him the Chief Minister’s post, even after his party extended support to Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Speaking during a recent interaction, Thirumavalavan said he did not take the remarks seriously and “laughed it off,” suggesting that such political conversations often emerge ahead of major elections and alliance discussions in Tamil Nadu.
The VCK leader’s statement has sparked fresh political speculation in the state, especially as regional parties continue recalibrating alliances ahead of future electoral battles. His comments also come amid growing political attention surrounding actor Vijay’s entry into active politics through TVK.
Thirumavalavan, however, maintained that his political decisions are based on ideology, social justice and long-term goals rather than personal positions or power offers. He reiterated his party’s commitment to protecting secular and democratic values in Tamil Nadu politics.
