New Delhi, August 19, 2026: A tragic explosion at a CNG filling station in Delhi’s Tikri Kalan area on Wednesday afternoon left one person dead and six others injured after the gas tank of a truck reportedly exploded while it was being refuelled.
The incident triggered panic in the area and prompted an immediate response from the Delhi Fire Service and police teams.
Truck Gas Tank Explodes During CNG Refuelling
According to officials, the explosion occurred while CNG was being filled into a truck at a fuel station near Tikri Kalan Metro Station.
People standing close to the truck were caught in the blast and suffered injuries. A fuel station attendant was reportedly among those affected and was later confirmed dead.
The incident was reported to the Delhi Fire Service at around 3:37 pm, following which six fire tenders were dispatched to the location.
Six People Injured
At least six people sustained injuries in the explosion and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said further details about the condition of the injured were awaited.
