Art of Living’s Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Offers Free Yoga For 14 Days

The Art of Living, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, has launched a 14-day free online yoga programme as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The nationwide initiative is being held from October 5 to October 18, 2026, encouraging people to embrace healthier, stress-free and substance-free lifestyles.

Free Yoga Sessions Across India

The initiative offers citizens an opportunity to participate in live online yoga sessions without any fee. The programme is open to members of the public as well as government officials, corporate employees, students, universities, colleges and other institutions.

The sessions combine yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation and stress-management practices, providing participants with a structured daily wellness routine.

According to the programme details, seven batches are available each day from Monday to Saturday, with sessions scheduled at 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, 11 am, 5 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm. Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes.

Sessions Available in Five Languages

To make the programme accessible to people across different parts of the country, the online sessions are being conducted in five languages.

Participants can select a suitable session and incorporate yoga and meditation into their daily routine during the 14-day campaign.

Those who do not register at the beginning can reportedly join the programme until October 11, 2026.

Campaign Linked to Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan

The programme is part of the wider Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the Government of India’s nationwide effort to prevent substance abuse and promote awareness about healthier and drug-free lifestyles.

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment is the nodal department responsible for drug-demand reduction initiatives. The government has been working with organisations and community groups to increase awareness, prevention and public participation.

The Ministry previously signed an MoU with the Art of Living to help expand the reach of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan among young people, students, women and wider communities.

Special Pledge Day

The 14-day campaign will conclude with a special Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge Day.

According to the programme information, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will lead a 10-minute live guided meditation, after which participants will take the Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge together.

The organisers are positioning the event as an opportunity to combine personal wellness practices with a broader public commitment toward preventing substance abuse.

Why Yoga Is Being Included

Yoga, breathing practices and meditation are being used in the campaign as tools to encourage healthier daily habits and stress management.

The Art of Living already offers yoga, breathing and meditation programmes, including online and in-person options. Its programmes describe these practices as tools for improving wellbeing, managing stress and developing greater mental clarity.

However, yoga and meditation should be viewed as complementary wellness practices and not as a substitute for professional medical or addiction treatment when someone is struggling with substance dependence.

Government’s Wider Drug-Free India Initiative

The free yoga programme comes at a time when the government is expanding public participation in its anti-substance-abuse campaigns.

In August 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, a 100-week nationwide campaign designed to encourage young people to participate in activities promoting healthy and substance-free lifestyles.

The initiative includes activities such as sports events, meditation sessions, cultural programmes, awareness campaigns and community engagement.

People interested in joining the Art of Living’s 14-day programme can register online through the organisation’s programme registration platform.

A Wellness-Focused Approach to a Drug-Free India

The Art of Living’s initiative combines daily yoga and meditation with the larger message of the Nasha Mukt Bharat movement.

By making the sessions free and available online, the organisers aim to make participation easier for people across the country while encouraging individuals to develop healthier routines.

The campaign’s concluding pledge is intended to reinforce the broader objective of building greater awareness and community participation in efforts to prevent substance abuse.

Conclusion

The Art of Living’s 14-day free online yoga campaign, being conducted from October 5 to October 18, 2026, offers people across India an opportunity to practise yoga, pranayama and meditation while supporting the wider message of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

With free sessions, multiple daily timings and instruction in five languages, the programme seeks to combine personal wellness with a nationwide call for healthier and substance-free communities.
