CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday, wishing him good health and a long life.
In a message shared by the Chief Minister’s Office, Vijay described Modi as a leader working with dedication towards building a strong India.
Vijay’s Birthday Message
Vijay said he extended his “heartfelt birthday wishes” to Prime Minister Modi and wished him a long life filled with good health.
His message, posted in both Tamil and English, said that Modi was working with dedication towards the goal of building a strong India.
The birthday greeting comes as Modi turned 76 on September 17, 2026, with political leaders across parties extending their wishes to the Prime Minister.
Other Tamil Nadu Leaders Also Greet Modi
Vijay was among several prominent Tamil Nadu political figures who conveyed birthday wishes to Modi.
Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin wished Modi good health, happiness and a long life. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami also extended his greetings and wished the Prime Minister continued strength in his service to the country.
Tamil Nadu Governor-in-charge Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar also greeted Modi and referred to the Prime Minister’s leadership and the vision of a developed India by 2047.
Birthday Greetings From Across Political Spectrum
Modi’s 76th birthday drew messages from leaders across India’s political spectrum. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi both wished the Prime Minister good health and a long life.
President Droupadi Murmu also extended birthday greetings, highlighting Modi’s long public-service career and his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
Vijay’s Message Draws Attention
Vijay’s birthday message has attracted attention because of his position as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and the state’s politically significant relationship with the Union government.
For now, however, the message itself focused on birthday greetings, good health and longevity, along with Vijay’s description of Modi as a leader dedicated to building a strong India.
