Bengaluru, August 12, 2026: Actor and filmmaker Prakash Raj’s claim that his name was deleted from Bengaluru’s electoral rolls during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has been rejected by the Bengaluru Central City Corporation, which said his name had not been deleted but was marked as “Shifted” after verification found that he no longer lived at his registered address.

Officials said a Booth Level Officer (BLO) subsequently carried out house-to-house verification at the address listed for the actor at Garden Apartment, No. 266. The verification reportedly found that Raj had permanently moved from the address.
The civic body said neighbours, the property manager and the owner of the flat confirmed that the actor had not been living there for approximately four years. Following the verification, officials prepared a spot inspection report, or mahazar, and marked his status as “Shifted.”

The civic body further stated that its officials spoke to Prakash Raj by telephone. According to the corporation, the actor confirmed that he was no longer residing at the address listed in the electoral roll and was instead living at another address within the Shanthinagar Assembly constituency.
Officials said his electoral details can subsequently be updated for his current residence through Form 6, the application used for inclusion of a person’s name in the electoral roll at a new address.
The corporation consequently described the allegation that his name had been deleted as not true, saying the action was taken following verification and in accordance with electoral guidelines.
