35-Year-Old Man Allegedly Kills 2 Daughters, Attempts Suicide At Airport Hotel; Police Probe Note

Bengaluru: A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his two young daughters inside a hotel near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru before attempting to take his own life, police said. The incident, which came to light on Monday, August 10, has triggered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The two girls, aged five and 10, were found dead inside a room on the fourth floor of the hotel. Their father was found unconscious in the same room with serious throat injuries and was subsequently taken to a private hospital for treatment. Police said his condition was being monitored and that his statement would be recorded once he is medically fit.

Children Found Dead Inside Hotel Room

According to investigators, the incident was discovered after the hotel’s security staff found the two children inside the room and alerted the police.

Police teams immediately reached the hotel and began collecting evidence from the scene. Forensic personnel also examined the room and collected samples and other material that could help establish what happened before the deaths.

The children’s bodies were sent for post-mortem examination as investigators work to determine the precise cause and circumstances of their deaths.

Father Found Injured

The children’s father, who reportedly works as a manager at a private company and lives in north Bengaluru, was found unconscious after suffering severe injuries to his throat.

He was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Deputy Commissioner of Police G K Mithun Kumar said investigators would record his statement after doctors declare him fit to speak. Police are also examining evidence gathered from the hotel and other sources.

Police Recover Note From Hotel Room

Investigators reportedly recovered a note from the room that refers to a marital dispute and an alleged extramarital relationship.

Police are currently examining the contents of the note and verifying the allegations mentioned in it.

However, officers have cautioned against drawing conclusions about the motive at this stage.

DCP Mithun Kumar said investigators were still verifying whether the issues mentioned in the note were connected to the deaths. The contents of the note therefore remain part of the ongoing investigation rather than an established explanation for the incident.

CCTV And Digital Evidence Under Examination

Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the hotel along with digital records and other evidence.

The investigation is expected to focus on the family’s movements before they arrived at the hotel, the events inside the room and the circumstances that led to the deaths.

Police are also checking hotel booking information and other records as part of the investigation.

Police Yet To Establish Motive

Although the recovered note has drawn attention to a possible marital dispute, police have stressed that the motive has not yet been established.

Investigators are expected to piece together the sequence of events through forensic evidence, CCTV footage, digital records and the statement of the surviving father once he is medically fit.

This approach will be important in determining what happened inside the hotel room and whether the allegations contained in the note had any direct connection to the deaths.

Investigation Continues

The Bengaluru police investigation remains ongoing.

The post-mortem reports, forensic findings, CCTV footage and the man’s eventual statement are expected to provide investigators with additional information about the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Police have indicated that further action will be based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
