New Delhi: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has clarified that it will not initiate any action against its senior leader Champat Rai until the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is completed. The statement was made by VHP Working President Alok Kumar, who emphasized that the organization believes in allowing the legal process to take its course before making any internal decisions.
Speaking on the issue, Alok Kumar said the VHP has full faith in the investigation and will wait for the SIT’s findings before considering any action. He stressed that it would be inappropriate to reach conclusions while the probe is still underway.
According to Kumar, the organization remains committed to transparency and accountability but also believes that every individual deserves a fair opportunity during an investigation. He noted that decisions based on speculation or unverified allegations could undermine the principles of justice.
The SIT is currently examining the allegations related to the matter involving Champat Rai. While details of the investigation have not been officially disclosed, the probe has drawn significant public and political attention.
The VHP leadership has maintained that it will fully cooperate with the investigating authorities if required. Alok Kumar reiterated that the organization’s stand is guided by respect for the law and due process rather than public pressure or media speculation.
The issue has sparked reactions from various political parties and social organizations, with some demanding immediate action while others have called for patience until the investigation concludes. Legal experts have also highlighted that the outcome of the SIT probe will be crucial in determining the next course of action.
Champat Rai, a prominent figure within the VHP and closely associated with several religious and social initiatives, has not publicly commented in detail on the ongoing investigation. His supporters have maintained that the allegations should be evaluated solely on the basis of evidence produced during the inquiry.
The VHP’s decision to defer any disciplinary action underscores its position that internal measures should be based on verified findings rather than preliminary claims. The organization has assured that it will review the SIT report carefully once it is submitted and take any necessary steps in accordance with its policies and the law.
As the investigation continues, all eyes remain on the SIT’s findings, which are expected to play a decisive role in determining any future action involving Champat Rai.
